REGINA – Quarterback Kerry Joseph is back for a second stint with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The CFL team announced today that the 41-year-old pivot has signed with the team and is expected on the practice field Thursday afternoon.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Joseph entered the league in 2003 with the Ottawa Renegades and was acquired by the Roughriders in the 2006 CFL Dispersal Draft.

He guided Saskatchewan to a Grey Cup victory in 2007 and was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player that season.

Joseph also played for Edmonton and Toronto over his 11-year career before retiring last winter.

The Riders can use some depth at quarterback after regular starter Darian Durant went down last month due to a torn tendon in his right elbow.
