TORONTO – A 78-year-old man is dead after being struck by a pickup truck in Whitby Wednesday night.
Durham Regional Police say the victim was walking his bicycle near Thickson Road and Crawforth Street around 7 p.m. when he was hit and killed by the vehicle.

The man was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The 64-year-old driver of the truck was uninjured and remained on scene.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call police.
