Regan says the consultation process will involve students, parents and businesses along with university faculty and presidents.

The consultation will also look at how to make post-secondary education more affordable for students.

The government says the information gathered will help develop a strategic paper outlining the long-term direction for universities and the next memorandum of understanding between universities and the province.
