WATCH: Police are investigating a local high school coach and several players in Harrison Township, Pennsylvania after they allegedly duct taped an autistic boy to a goal post.
TORONTO – A Pittsburgh-area high school coach and two players are being investigated by police after an autistic boy was found taped to a soccer goal post.
Austin Babinsack, a student at Highlands High School in Harrison Township, Pennsylvania was the victim of the alleged hazing incident.
“I was really shaken, I thought I was gonna be stuck there for a long time,” Austin told KDKA.
He was freed by an off-duty Pennsylvania state trooper.
“He was terrified, he could have died, he could have had a heart attack from being so stressed out, he was screaming at the top of his lungs,” mother Kristy Babinsack told the CBS affiliate.
Coach Jim Turner and two players have been suspended by Highlands School District for five games.
“Highlands School District does not take matters such as hazing and bullying lightly. The district issues strict disciplinary action on students who think these actions are appropriate and harmless,” officials said in a statement.
Babinsack’s mother also told CBS that Austin later attended a soccer game where he was allegedly ridiculed by others players who called him a “snitch”.
