HALIFAX – Halifax Regional police arrested three people Tuesday night after finding drugs and weapons, including a cattle prod, during a routine traffic stop on Dorothea Drive in Dartmouth.

Police stopped the car around 8:30 p.m., then realized they had a warrant to arrest a 22-year old man in the car.

They then searched the car and found a knife and a cattle prod.

The 22-year old was also found with marijuana and cocaine.

A 15-year old boy was in the car, breaching conditions, and police say he had a loaded hand gun on him.

They were accompanied by a third 18 year old man who was also arrested.

The two adults will face drug trafficking and weapons charges Wednesday at Dartmouth Provincial Court while the 15-year old will be at Halifax Youth Court facing firearm and trafficking charges.
