Police investigate alleged grabbing attempt in northwest

CALGARY – Police are investigating a troubling incident in the city’s northwest.

Around 4 p.m. on Friday, two girls were walking on Sandstone Drive NW when they were allegedly approached by a man who tried to grab one of them.

Investigators say both girls were able to escape and the suspect fled on foot.

Police were notified by the parents of one of the girls.

Officers have begun searching the area and are now talking with residents who live nearby.

So far police have not been able to identify the suspect. He’s described as 5’8” and 220 pounds, wearing a black toque and black scarf over his face.
