No one can accuse Joe Biden of not saying what’s on his mind.

The Vice President of the United States was hosting an address and Q&A at the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics Thursday.

And while VP’s tend to wear out as they near the end of their second term in office, Biden’s propensity for off the cuff remarks was still in fine form.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

While taking a question from Sietse Goffard, Harvard’s student council Vice President, Biden couldn’t resist a moment to crack a joke at his own expense.

“Isn’t it a b*****, that Vice President thing?” the VP cracked amidst laughter and a few shocked gasps.

Biden was quick to point out that his off-colour remark was all in good fun.

“That was a joke. I’m joking, I’m joking. Best decision I ever made,” he said.

The veep is no stranger to controversial remarks. In 2008, Biden told Senator Chuck Graham to “stand up Chuck, let ’em see you,” while forgetting that Graham was wheelchair-bound.

Biden also drew some fire in 2010 when a microphone caught him telling President Obama that passing the Affordable Care Act was “a big f****** deal.”
