TORONTO – Doug Ford says he released a slate of new attack ads to make sure voters knew John Tory’s record.

Most of Tory’s resume is readily available on his website, but Ford suggested to reporters Tuesday his opponent might be hiding something.

“Let’s find out what John Tory has done in life, let’s find out about his resume, let’s find out about what he’s done in life,” Ford told reporters before a 3 p.m. debate. “Stay tuned. I’m sure you’ll find out in the next week or so.”

Tory has been the target of most of the attacks thus far in the campaign but he still leads in recent polls.

Tory wouldn’t directly comment on the attack ads. Instead, he suggested he was running a positive campaign.

“I’m running on a positive message of getting things done,” he said. “I don’t determine our advertising campaign but you can see the ads we have on television and radio right now, they’re positive.”

Tory did however say he thinks “people know the Ford record and the division and the chaos that’s taken place at city hall.”

Ford countered however claiming a member of the Tory campaign called him “trash” over the weekend. In fact, Tory’s campaign co-chair Bob Richardson called election day “take out the trash day” in a reference to Rob and Doug ford.
