VERNON — Three cougars were destroyed in the BX area last week, one after killing a resident’s dog on McLennan Road.

Two others hadn’t made any kills but were roaming the same general area, visiting front yards and decks, likely also looking for an easy meal.
The big cats, native to the area, are most active at dawn and dusk.
