EDMONTON — Two young men have been arrested following a frightful incident near a St. Albert park Saturday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m., RCMP received a report of a man dressed in camouflage carrying a rifle on Red Willow trail near the skateboard and baseball park.

A resident in the area directed police into a nearby wooded area north of the baseball diamonds.

In the woods, police found two men inside a fort. Officers seized four knives and drug paraphernalia, which were found inside the fort. They also located two “very realistic looking rifles,” which officers say were pellet and airsoft guns.

RCMP say there were kids aged 11 to 14 playing baseball at the time. The skate park was also very busy with young people.

A 20-year-old and an 18-year-old were arrested for possession of weapons dangerous to the public. Charges are pending.
