KELOWNA – An American ski coach accused of secretly video-taping teenage girls at the Silver Star ski resort near Vernon is facing more legal troubles.
Jason Paur,44, has been indicted in the United States on five child porn related offences.
The former private school teacher from Seattle was arrested in December 2013 for allegedly installing a video camera in rooms where female students were staying.
Paur was with 11 cross country students on an annual field trip when he was arrested at the ski resort.
Paur has now been indicted on two counts of production and transportation of child pornography and one count each of production of child pornography with intent to transport, possession of child pornography and transportation of minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
The American indictment alleges Paur recorded students during previous ski trips to Vernon in 2011 and 2012.
Paur’s trial in Vernon is set for January 2015.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle says efforts to extradite him to face the new charges will begin after the Vernon proceedings.
