It’s a big weekend downtown for wine lovers as The Port of Wines Festival takes over the Cunard Centre in Halifax. The festival is a showcase of unique and award winning wines from around the world including from the land down under. At 6:45 we’ll meet Matthew Nugan of the award winning Australian winery Nugan Estates.

When we think of hip-hop in this region we don’t often think of Cape Breton, but a young group of up and comers is trying to change that. At 7:15 we’ll meet members of the Bud Squad, led by hip-hop artist Mitchell Bailey. The trio have been working with the Artpreneur 2.0 program offered by Halifax based Youth Art Connection, and will be performing at this weekend’s Hopscotch Halifax Festival.

Wine lovers rejoice! It’s that time of year again where you can sip & sample hundreds of varieties at the Port of Wines festival. At 7:45 we’ll find out more about the festival and celebrate the fine wine of France with a 5th generation winemaker from the Southern Rhône region.

This weekend, many cities across Canada will celebrate Culture Days. In Halifax, Argyle Street will be closed off to mark the event. At 8:15 we’ll hear from Jennie King about the first annual Argyle Street Festival and the music, theatre, art and food that comes along with it.

And we’ll wrap up the week at 8:45 with a visit from a few local designers. They’ll tell us all about FashionEasta, a big fashion show taking place this weekend in Halifax, and will share a little bit of the fashions we can expect to see on the runway.
