UPDATED: Man in hospital after stolen pickup truck crashes in Halifax

HALIFAX – A seriously injured man is in hospital under police guard after a stolen pickup truck crashed Thursday morning in Halifax.

Police were called to the area of Old Sambro Road and Lee Murphy Crescent around 4:30 a-m.

They say a 23-year-old Halifax man was getting out of the truck when officers arrived and was rushed to hospital.

Police determined the truck, which crashed into a boulder and some trees, had been stolen from a home.

Investigators say charges are pending.

Police were initially looking for a second person who was allegedly in the truck, but later said that information was unfounded.
