Police arrested four men after allegedly attempting an armed robbery of a Richmond jewellry store on Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, three masked men carrying a shotgun tried to go into Wonderland Jewellry in Aberdeen Mall. After being unable to get inside, the trio fled the scene and jumped into a stolen Jeep Cherokee that was waiting and being driven by a fourth suspect.

After driving the Jeep to Thorpe Road near Dallyn in Richmond, the four suspects abandoned it, got into a stolen Ford F-350 truck and drove to Burnaby. The suspects then stole another Jeep Cherokee and dumped the stolen Ford truck. From there, the group drove to Port Moody and attempted to steal two more cars on Cecil Drive but in the end, all four fled on foot.

The Vancouver Police Emergency Response Team and three VPD canine units were brought in to track the men. The K-9 units were quick to action by getting one suspect in the yard of a home on Tuxedo Drive and tracking a second man hiding in a boat in the yard of a house on Mount Royal Court.
