WEST KELOWNA — A man was rushed to hospital Tuesday evening after he was struck while attempting to cross Highway 97 in West Kelowna.
It happened just North of Butt Road near the Home Depot.
Witnesses say two men were running across the highway when one was struck by a southbound SUV.
The impact forced the victim up onto the hood of the vehicle and into the windshield.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance with a non-life threatening hip injury.
One witness reports seeing the second man taken from the scene in a police cruiser.
RCMP didn’t say why Tuesday night.
The area had no cross walk, no street lights and according to police was a very dangerous place for a pedestrian to attempt to cross.
The driver of the SUV was shaken up but she was not injured.
Police don’t expect she will face any charges.
