TORONTO — Canadian artists Drake and Justin Bieber are among the nominees announced Tuesday for the MTV Europe Music Awards.
Drake is up for Best Hip Hop and Bieber received nods in the Best Male and Biggest Fans categories.
Drake will be challenged by Eminem, Iggy Azalea, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj while Bieber is up against Ed Sheeran, Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams for Best Male.

Leading the way with seven nominations is Katy Perry, including Best Song (“Dark Horse”), Best Female and Best Pop.
Ariana Grande is a close second with six nominations while Pharrell Williams and 5 Seconds of Summer have five each.
One Direction, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Eminem, Sam Smith and Kiesza have four nominations each.
The MTV EMAs will be broadcast Nov. 9 from Glasgow.
