Ontario party leaders to attend annual International Plowing Match

IVY, Ont. – The leaders of Ontario’s three main political parties will be in the village of Ivy south of Barrie today for the annual International Plowing Match.

Rural issues are likely to be discussed at the huge agricultural fair which is in its 101st year.

Premier Kathleen Wynne, interim Progressive Conservative leader Jim Wilson and NDP leader Andrea Horwath are all expected to take part in the event’s opening ceremonies.

They are also set to compete in an exhibition plowing match.

The event, which runs over several days, features exhibits, plowing competitions and food vendors among other activities.
