In Photos: Northern lights dazzle eastern Canada

TORONTO – People in eastern Canada were treated to a fantastic display of the northern lights Friday night.

The coronal mass ejection (CME) impacted Earth earlier in the day, triggering the dazzling lights. Though it was daylight in Canada, the geomagnetic storm peaked just after sunset in eastern Canada, giving residents in Atlantic Canada, Quebec and Ontario a fantastic display.

Even the northern United States were graced with the beautiful display.
