Edmonton police search for witnesses to alleged assault in city’s southwest

EDMONTON – Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed an alleged assault in southwest Edmonton in late August.

Sometime between 8 am. and 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, officers say a man was leaving his home in the area of 12 Avenue and 119 Street when he was approached by two men dressed in construction overalls.

The victim was backing his vehicle down the driveway when he saw the men and began a conversation with them. Officers say the two supposed construction workers allegedly struck the man several times as he sat in his vehicle.

The two men in coveralls then left the area in a pick-up truck, according to police.

The victim suffered minor facial injuries and was treated by a medic.
