Young boy seriously injured by car in Markham

TORONTO – A six-year-old boy was seriously injured by a car on a busy Markham street Friday afternoon.

The boy was hit by a passing vehicle on McCowan Road near Denison Street, 1.5 kilometres south of Highway 407.

It’s unclear what led up to the boy being hit.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Traffic in the area is expected to be slow for several hours as police investigate.
