Manslaughter guilty plea in Dustin Boulet murder

SASKATOON – A man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the stabbing death of Dustin Boulet earlier this year.

Estevan Fuenzalida, 24, was charged after Boulet was stabbed outside of Bridges Ale House on March 1 while celebrating his 29th birthday.

Boulet was trying to break up a fight.

Fuenzalida will be sentence on Sept. 26.

The guilty plea comes on the same day as a walk organized by Boulet’s brother.

Chad Boulet organized the walk to raised awareness about knife violence with an ultimate goal to change the law.

He wants the Criminal Code of Canada changed to make it illegal to carry a knife.

A second man, Nathan Joseph, is charged with second-degree murder in Boulet’s death. He will appear in court in October.
