KELOWNA–A petition launched by a Kelowna woman is gaining momentum.
Fed up with stalled talks between bc teachers and the provincial government, an Okanagan mom is
pushing for transparency.
Tera Pemberton has launched a petition on change.org to televise the negotiations.
She’d like to see the talks on live streaming video, in the name of full disclosure.
“I think there’d be better behavior. We’d see results a lot quicker,” says Pemberton. “I think taxpayers and
parents in B.C. need to know the facts on both sides.”
Pemberton agrees it’s an idea that likely wouldn’t be well received by either side, but she doesn’t think it’s
that crazy of a plan.
“You know, the legislative assembly is recorded. Some court cases. It’s not unheard of.”
She asks people who do sign her online petition, to share the link on
social media.
