Ridge Meadows RCMP confirm the body of a man was found in a ditch near 280 St. and Lougheed Hwy.
The discovery was made by traffic controllers just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers say a bicycle was found near the victim, leading to initial speculation the person may have been the victim of a hit and run. Police have now said the man’s injuries are not consistent with being hit by a car and the cause of death is still unknown.
Crash analysis experts spent several hours at the scene before the body was turned over to the Coroner.
Police will be continuing the investigation with the help of the coroner and an autopsy will be done on the body.
