VANCOUVER – Reports say the operators of Vancouver’s BC Place are reassuring taxpayers that recent leaks were a result of work currently taking place on the roof.

Fans at Saturday’s Whitecaps game complained about getting wet during the event.

Staff at the stadium have confirmed they are patching up some leaks in the dome, but are clear the retractable roof does not need to be replaced. The repairs are expected to be completed by November.

Workers are also addressing a previous issue related to lubricant stains on the roof of BC Place.

This is not the first time the stadium has had issues with dripping water as three years ago there were a number of small leaks from the stadium’s $514 million roof. The budget for the revitalization was $563 million.
