LLOYDMINSTER, Sask. – One teen is dead and another is in critical condition after a crash east of Lloydminster over the long weekend.
The collision happened Saturday evening at the intersection of highways 16 and 303 between a northbound Hyundai Tiburon and a westbound minivan.
A 16-year-old girl, who was a front seat passenger in the Tiburon, was rushed to Lloydminster hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Her name has not been released.
A 16-year-old boy, a back seat passenger in the Tiburon, was taken to Lloydminster hospital and later transported to the University of Albert Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Tiburon and two people in the minivan were also taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
Maidstone RCMP say alcohol may be a factor and charges may be pending.
The investigation continues and police are asking witnesses at the scene and those who assisted prior to the arrival of emergency personal to contact Maidstone RCMP to provide a statement.
