PETAWAWA, Ont. – Provincial police say a standoff with a man inside a house near Pembroke, Ont., has ended peacefully after more than 36 hours.

They say a 44-year-old man turned himself in on Saturday and went to hospital.
The incident began around 11 p.m. Thursday and officers, including a tactical team, were placed outside the Laurentian Valley home.
Police asked residents to stay away from the home while the situation was dealt with.
