HALIFAX – Halifax police say they have made an arrest in connection with a shooting death that happened more than 10 years ago.
Kevin James Bowser, 28, was found in front of a Uniacke Street residence on July 10, 2004 suffering from gunshot wounds and died a short time later.
Shilo Marcino Beals of Cherrybrook, N.S. was arrested at a residence on Highway 89 in New Tecumseth, Ont. on Wednesday.
He is facing charges for first-degree murder and six weapons-related offences.
A Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for Beals on July 14, 2014.
He is due to appear in Ontario court on Wednesday for a bail hearing.
Investigators from Halifax are planning to travel to Ontario to bring Beals back to Nova Scotia to face the charges.
