PENTICTON–The Valley First Challenge Penticton is on.
Over 1200 triathlon racers took their marks this morning.
The full race starts with a 2 kilometre swim in Okanagan Lake.
From there the single loop bike course travels 180 kilometres through rolling hills along Skaha Lake and back to Penticton.
The 42.2 kilometre run follows the shores of Skaha Lake and to the finish line.
Half races and relay races are also taking place.
The top ten winners will split a 75 thousand dollar purse.
