Body recovered from Last Mountain Lake

SOUTHEY, Sask. – The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team (URT) located the body of a 78-year-old Saskatchewan man in Last Mountain Lake on Friday.

The victim’s body was located around 5 p.m., submerged on the west side of the lake.

He was a resident of Wee Too Beach and his name is unknown at this time.

Around noon on Wednesday, RCMP heard of a boat found adrift on Lake Mountain Lake.

The watercraft belonged to the 78-year-old man and both his truck and trailer were at the boat launch at Wee Too Beach.

The victim was discovered near a dock where some of his belongings were found.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the official cause of death.
