TORONTO – Houston firefighters rescued a pair of cats that were clinging to life after being pulled from a burning housing complex Thursday.
According to KHOU News, residents and several animals were able to escape the burning building but one resident’s two small cats kept running back inside the complex.
“I was like, hopefully the firefighters can get to them before the smoke does,” Antonette Farmer told the CBS affiliate.
Video of the rescue shows the cats panting heavily as firefighters cooled the felines down with bottled water.
The cats are said to be in good health following the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
