The Lougheed Highway in Mission was closed in both directions for several hours this morning after a large ammonia leak at a food processing plant.

The plant is called B.C. Frozen Foods.

RCMP say the source of the leak may have been found already, and closed, and they are just waiting for the ammonia to dissipate.

The Lougheed Highway was closed between Stave Lake Street and Manson Street but has since re-opened. The CP Rail line through the area was closed for a short time but has since re-opened.
