Police searching Last Mountain Lake for possible drowning victim

Police are searching for a 78-year-old man after his boat was found adrift on Last Mountain Lake on Wednesday afternoon.

REGINA – Police are searching for a 78-year-old man after his boat was found adrift on Last Mountain Lake on Wednesday afternoon.

Southey RCMP received a complaint that an unattended boat was drifting on Last Mountain Lake between Fox’s Point and Wee Too Beach. The boat was towed to the Rowan’s Ravine marina.

Further investigation revealed that the boat belonged to a 78-year-old man who has property at Wee Too Beach. The man could not be located at his home, and his truck and trailer were found at the boat launch at along with several of his belongings.

RCMP and the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team continue to search for the missing man.
