CALGARY – Police are warning Calgarians to make sure they’re locking windows and doors after a string of nighttime break-ins.

Eight break-and-enters were reported in the city’s north over a week-long period starting on August 5th.

The crimes were committed in the communities of Arbour Lake, Rocky Ridge, Royal Oak, Harvest Hills, Coventry Hills and Hidden Valley.

Police say in each case, suspects gained access to homes by removing screen windows and doors, through unlocked windows and doors or through overhead garage doors.

In many cases, homes were occupied at the time of the break-ins.

It is unknown if any of these incidents are connected.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact police or call Crime Stoppers.
