LETHBRIDGE – RCMP are encouraging drivers to be extra cautious after another crash near the village of Nobleford.

The most recent collision happened Wednesday morning when a car tried to turn left from Highway 23 onto Highway 519, and was hit by a southbound semi-truck.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The 21-year-old driver of the car was taken to hospital in Lethbridge with minor injuries.

Earlier this week, a woman was killed at the same intersection when the SUV she was in tried to make a left hand turn and was struck by a semi.

The 73-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and later died.

Alcohol was not a factor in either collision.

RCMP in Picture Butte say the high number of crashes makes the Nobleford intersection one of their most-attended spots. They recommend drivers take extra time to ensure the intersection is safe before moving through.
