It is possibly one of the most terrifying amusement rides you’ll ever see.
However, it doesn’t seem to stop people from strapping in and riding the Sling Shot.
“90 per cent of the ride is getting into the seat. Once the seat belt is latched, like the ride’s over for most people,” said Will Willis, who operates the ride.
The Sling Shot was introduced in 2001 by the infamous Thrill Masters, a family owned company based in Calgary. It is the only one of its kind in Canada.
Willis said his favorite part of his job is the reaction he gets to witness each day when people finish the ride.
“You go out on other rides and it’s kind of that same thing, you go in a circle. There’s not much else out there that can begin to touch it for the extreme’s that this meets.”
As the saying goes, fear is just fun you haven’t had yet.
