REGINA – Clean up continues Tuesday morning after a semi truck pulled down several power line in North Central Regina Monday night.
The truck was on its way through Regina with a large load that exceeded normal height dimensions, and in an attempt to avoid underpasses the 32-year-old male driver used his GPS system to guide him through the city.
The driver ended up heading eastbound on 4th Avenue, pulling down power lines in his trail. Near the intersection of 4th Avenue and Athol Street a pole, wires and transformer were pulled down.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and no one was hurt during the incident, but 4th Avenue from Elphinstone Street to Cameron Street was closed and there was need for extensive repair.
The male was charged with driving without due care and attention and driving off of a heavy vehicle route.
