CALGARY – An investigation is underway after a woman reported being sexual assaulted in the city’s southeast on Monday.
Police were called to an apartment building in the 6200 block of 17 Ave S.E. around 4 a.m.
The victim says she was attacked by two men, but managed to escape from a 4th floor unit and pull the fire alarm.
One witness told Global News she heard a woman running down the halls screaming.
The victim, a woman in her early 20s, was taken to Sheldon M. Chumir Centre for an assessment.
Police don’t believe the incident was random, and say it involved two people who met prior to the incident.
Two men were escorted from the scene in police cars. One man was taken into custody but has since been released.
So far no charges have been laid.
