TORONTO – A former Winnipeg stripper who was convicted earlier this year of assault with a weapon after violently attacking a co-worker was handed a two-year suspended sentence with probation this week.
Thirty-two-year-old Sabrina Schmaltz repeatedly hit the woman, who was performing on stage at the time, with a four-inch, four-pound stiletto high heel at a Winnipeg strip club in June 2012.

The victim sustained a serious concussion and needed nine staples in her head.
According to the Winnipeg Sun, Schmaltz was trying to separate herself from exotic dancing and the attack may have been provoked.
Schmaltz, who reportedly wanted to become an early childhood educator, had asked for a discharge with hopes of not having a criminal record.
As part of her sentence, Schmaltz also has to write a letter of apology to the woman she attacked.
