WATCH: Olivia Chow, Karen Stintz take part in ice bucket challenge
TORONTO – Olivia Chow and Karen Stintz have completed the ice bucket challenge.
The mayoral candidates accepted the challenge from Global News reporter Peter Kim to take part in the viral campaign to raise awareness for ALS Thursday.
Global News also challenged the other major candidates including Rob Ford, John Tory and David Soknacki but have not yet heard back.
The ice bucket challenge has gained international attention after several celebrities, including late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon and professional athletes Dion Phaneuf and the entire New England Patriots team took part in the fundraising campaign.
The goal is to raise money for ALS – also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease – and has raised $1.35 million since July.
