Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Residents are being warned large hail can damage property and cause injury.

In case of severe weather, they are being asked to take cover immediately and stay indoors.

“We have a very unstable airmass over our region today,” says Global BC meteorologist Kristi Gordon. “Thunderstorms are expected across much of the Interior this afternoon. These will generally be travelling from south to north and have the potential of becoming severe.”
