Evacuation alert issued for residents near Alexis Creek due to wildfire

Evacuation Alert issued due to aggressive wildfire. Cariboo Regional District

VANCOUVER – An evacuation alert has been issued for the Bayliff Road area near Alexis Creek due to a wildfire burning in the region.

The 600 hectare fire, which is west of Bull Canyon, is displaying aggressive fire behaviour.

A public information line has been established at 250-398-5581.

In addition, traffic on Highway 20 continues to be impacted due to this wildfire. Highway 20 is currently closed in both directions 24 km west of Alexis Creek. A detour is in place via Chilko Lake Road and Bayliff Road for 12.8 km. For more information, visit www.drivebc.ca.
