Superintendent Dave Attfield with the Surrey RCMP says they have several witnesses who are cooperating with police.

One witness told Global News that they heard a ‘pop’ from the rear of an older home and trailer and that is when they called police.

“Well when I left the premises, I heard a pop so I paid no mind and went down to the end of the laneway,” said Rob, who did not want his last name used. “So I got on to the street and that’s why I saw all the police and the fire and ambulance just flying right by me. I turned back around because I saw them stop in front of my home, went back up to the street and police came out of their cars, with their hands on their holsters, and told me to get back into my house. To keep my family safe.”

WATCH: Extended interview with Rob:
