Vernon, B.C. – RCMP in the North Okanagan are treating an overnight fire that damaged a children’s playhouse as suspicious.
It’s the latest in a rash of possible arsons that have plagued the Vernon area since early May.
Around 2 a.m. on Monday RCMP officers near the 800 block of Mount Bulman Place noticed smoke and responded to the blaze.
Police say it is too early to link this fire to other suspicious blazes in the Vernon area.
RCMP officers were following up on reports of thefts from vehicles in the same area when they spotted the smoke.
However, police don’t believe the fire and the reported thefts are linked.
