PENTICTON, BC – Early Sunday morning, two suspects damaged 17 vehicles at the Lakeside Resort parkade and Penticton marina.

A Lakeside Resort security guard  spotted two males, believed to be teenagers, allegedly vandalizing.

Penticton RCMP arrived at the hotel around 5:00 AM, but the suspects had already fled.

Mounties say 15 cars in the parkade are damaged and 5 vehicles had their tires slashed, and two vehicles at the marina had the hoods of their vehicles vandalized.

“It’s just senseless damage to people’s properties,” says Sgt. Rick Dellebuur.

Over the weekend, the area saw upwards of 8,000 people at Okanagan Lake Park for the Penticton Peach Festival.

But Sgt. Dellebuur says the crowds at the event were friendly and cooperative.

“This thing that happened at the Lakeside certainly can’t be attributed to Peach Festival. It’s probably some of our locals just out there either damaging or looking to steal.”

Fortunately, nothing was stolen.

Mounties are reviewing security footage but are also asking the public for help.

One suspect was wearing a black hoodie, while the other was wearing a tartan hoodie and carrying a backpack.

The two male suspects were also riding BMX bikes.
