An Irish betting house says it has retrieved information someone in Canada had obtained on 650,000 of its customers.

Paddy Power says the compromised data include phone numbers, dates of birth and security question answers – but not financial information or passwords.

Only customers who signed up before 2010 were affected.

It is not clear how the person in Canada came to have the information.

Ontario Provincial Police say they assisted in the matter but won’t identify the person because no charges were filed.

Paddy Power is known for sometimes offering unusual bets, such as one that would have paid out on the assassination of U.S. President Barack Obama.
