CALGARY – Police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old man whose body was discovered along a popular mountain trail near Canmore.
A group of hikers called RCMP on Saturday morning, saying a friend went missing as they ascended Ha Ling Peak.

The hikers had started their trek around 5 a.m. from the Goat Creek Trailhead, but weren’t able to find one group member who had become separated from them.
Emergency crews later located the man’s body on the east side of the peak.
They say he appeared to have fallen from a great distance.
