TORONTO — Sandra Bullock raked in an estimated $51 million last year to earn the top spot on Forbes list of the highest-paid actresses.

Bullock’s fortune is thanks to a deal for a percentage of profits from Gravity, which made $716 million worldwide.

In second place is Jennifer Lawrence, the Oscar favourite who had two blockbusters — The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Forbes estimates Lawrence made $34 million.

Not far behind is Jennifer Aniston, who earned an estimated $31 million in the last year.

Gwyneth Paltrow is estimated to have made $19 million, landing her in fourth place on the list.

Tied at fifth are Angelina Jolie and Cameron Diaz, with $18 million each.

The rest of the list includes Scarlett Johansson ($17 million), Amy Adams ($13 million), Natalie Portman ($13 million) and Kristen Stewart ($12 million).

Forbes compiled the list by estimating earnings for the year ended June 2014 after consulting with industry insiders.

The list highlights the fact that female stars earn much less than their male counterparts.

Just last month, Forbes estimated that Robert Downey Jr. raked in a whopping $75 million.

The top 10 actors made a combined $419 million, compared to the top 10 actresses who earned a total of $226 million.
