CALGARY – Police have charged a 26-year-old man in connection with the city’s 22 homicide of the year.
Brian Blackkettle, 35, was found unconscious in the area of 8th Street and 7th Avenue S.W. just before 11 p.m. on Sunday.

He was rushed to hospital where he later died.
Investigators believe he was approached by another man who struck him in what appears to be an unprovoked attack.
On Friday, police announced they had charged Blaine Manywounds with manslaughter.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, August 8th, 2014.
