EDMONTON – Hinton RCMP are attempting to find the identity and origin of a human skull after a family found it while cleaning out its garage.
Police say the skull was turned in by the family of Leo Groeneveldt in February 2013.
According to police, the skull was found under items that had been in the garage since Groeneveldt passed away several years ago.
His family members believe he came into possession of the skull at party he attended in Hinton in the late 1960s or early 1970s.
Police are asking anyone who attended a party during that time in Hinton where a human skull was shown or passed around to contact Hinton RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
