The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating a fatal shooting in Maple Ridge.
It happened in a home at 240th Street and 103rd Avenue at about 10:15 on Tuesday night.
Thirty-three-year-old Trevor Koehler of Maple Ridge was found with multiple gunshot wounds when police arrived on scene. He was transported to hospital but was pronounced dead.
Investigators are looking for a light-coloured, maybe white or cream, compact import car, possibly a Honda, Toyota or Acura.
IHIT says Koehler had no criminal record and was not known to police. This incident does not appear to be gang related and the motive is yet to be confirmed.
“At this early stage of the investigation we can say Trevor was the victim of a targeted attack and this was not a random occurrence,” says Sgt. Adam MacIntosh of IHIT. “IHIT continues to work with the Ridge Meadows RCMP to determine why this shooting occurred and who is responsible.”
Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the IHIT tip line by calling 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihittipline@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. If you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip on their website at Solvecrime.ca
